About your new role.

 

Primary objectives

  • Provide new business development support to Partners in assigned client segments to generate profitable growth and revenue generation in accordance with the firm’s overall financial goals.

 

  • Provide practical assistance to the Partners so that major business development opportunities and targets can be realised.

 

  • Identify and develop new work opportunities, whether they come from existing or new market sectors.

 

Key responsibilities.

Work closely with the Client Segment Head and their key partners to implement and manage agreed-upon new business development projects, such as:

  • Creating business ideas for specific client segments
  • New product development.
  • Targeting new clients, including identification, research, prioritisation, and conversion.
  • New business pipeline; working with partners to ensure pipeline targets are efficiently identified, prioritised, and income is generated.
  • Lead generation, analysing opportunities, and focusing on the most profitable ones
  • Identifying development potential in certain market sectors or locations.
  • Introduce measures to track the effectiveness of all new business development activities.
  • Support the Bids team by providing knowledge of prospects and markets for tenders, pitches, and presentations to appropriate client segments.
  • Provide coaching/mentoring support to Partners in terms of new business development and sales activities, as well as identifying training needs.
  • Work on behalf of the firm to establish relationships with external organisations that could be introducers, referrers, or clients.
  • Working collaboratively with the Marketing team, use client and market insights to create campaigns that engage prospects, improve the client segment’s market positioning and reputation, and generate profitable new business income.
  • Capture and document lessons learned from new business activities and initiatives, and ensure that they are shared throughout the Sales Enablement team, Marketing team, and segments to improve future actions.

 

Please note that the preferred location for this post is Liverpool, however we are open to other areas. The successful candidate will need to spend time in the Liverpool office.

About You

  • At least four years of business development experience in a B2B services setting, including at least two years in professional services.
  • A successful track record of generating new business.
  • Strong analytical skills.commercially aware and astute.
  • A self-starter who can work alone and take the initiative in producing ideas and solutions.
  • Excellent project and time management skills, as well as organisational abilities.
  • Persuasion and influencing skills are well developed, and you may manage at a senior level without having direct line responsibility.
  • Confident, assertive, and resilient.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities (both written and oral).
  • Flexible – the role will involve both internal support for Partners and client-facing activities, thus travel between Weightmans headquarters and to client offices will be required.
