JOB DESCRIPTION

Are you interested in people?
Do you want to make a difference in the lives of others and yourself?
Could you aid someone who wants to live their best life?

We are looking for Support Workers who can motivate and enable persons with learning disabilities while also providing practical and compassionate support in many aspects of daily life. Experience in care is not required; all you need are the proper ideals and a desire to help individuals attain greater freedom and live their lives to the fullest.

We have a variety of full and part-time positions open on a regular basis.

Our Respite Services, which are based in Hailsham and Bexhill, are 24-hour services designed to provide people with learning disabilities with a break, a holiday, or a safe place to stay in times of need.

Our Community Support Service, which has locations around the County, provides assistance to people living in the community, whether on their own or in a Supported Living environment, with the purpose of assisting people in achieving their goals and fostering independence.

Our daytime services are available in Bexhill, Eastbourne, Lewes, and Crowborough. They operate four days a week, offering a variety of sessions either in the centre or in the neighbourhood. Sessions cover health and well-being, baking, art and creativity, multimedia, gardening, photography, nature and wildlife, and music.

Responsibilities may include community support, skill development, daily living assistance, and personal care. A comprehensive training programme is offered to help you with your position, including medicine, health and safety, safeguarding, and moving and handling instruction. The possibility to complete the Care Certificate is also accessible.

We are seeking people who:

  • Maintain a favourable attitude towards the rights of those with learning difficulties.
  • Have great communication and organising skills.
  • Are self-motivated?
  • Are physically capable of performing all jobs as required.
  • Are committed to offering support.
  • Willing to undergo the training required to perform the work function.
  • Have a collaborative ethos.
