Job Summary
The Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology is looking for a part-time Website & Systems Developer to drive the technical implementation, maintenance, and development of the Department’s website and intranet. This role, requiring 22.5 hours per week, is crucial for ensuring a secure, reliable, and user-centered digital presence that supports the Department’s operations and communications.
Role Overview
The Website & Systems Developer will focus on:
- Website Migration: Leading the migration from Drupal 7 to Drupal 10, in collaboration with the University Information Services team, to ensure a seamless transition by July 2024.
- Intranet Development: Creating a new SharePoint-based intranet to enhance internal communications and resource management.
- Workflow Automation: Developing automated workflows and processes using Microsoft Power Automate, Power Apps, Azure Logic Apps, and Dynamics 365 to deliver efficient, integrated solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Leadership: Oversee the technical aspects of the website and intranet, ensuring all digital platforms adhere to best practices and regulations in data protection, accessibility, and SEO.
- Support and Training: Provide training and support to website users, acting as the primary contact for development issues and collaborating with University Information Services.
- Service Improvement: Implement service improvements under the guidance of the Communications Manager and IT Manager.
Candidate Requirements
- Drupal and SharePoint Expertise: Extensive backend experience with Drupal and SharePoint, with the capability to manage and resolve development-related issues.
- Microsoft Power Platform Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Power Automate, including designing workflows and integrating Microsoft 365 apps with external APIs. Familiarity with Power Apps, Azure Logic Apps, and Dynamics 365 is essential.
- Technical Skills: Ability to handle data formats like JSON for data exchange, and experience with SQL/Dataverse.
