Summary

 

Coordinate and accelerate the flow of materials (both from suppliers and among departments) in accordance with production schedules. Plan and schedule your material/production needs. Impacts the quality of one’s own work as well as the work of others on the team. Executes normal operational/technical activities in accordance with instructions and work patterns. There is flexibility in rearranging the sequence to perform tasks/duties based on changing work conditions.

 

Job Description.

Role Summary/Purpose

This position is part of the SIOP team and will serve as the primary liaison between shop operations and the planning team. You will be the primary source of information for the Overhaul and Planning leaders, collaborating with them to optimise plans, cut costs, minimise delinquency, and enhance TAT.

Essential Responsibilities Include:

 

  • Prepare and update production schedules, monitor adherence, and ensure operational alignment with production goals and KPIs.
  • Monitor engines, modules, and individual parts throughout each shop visit to ensure TAT and labour hours are on track and to identify areas for improvement.
  • Identify situations where everyday duties are not completed on time, in accordance with regular work.
  • Prepare and distribute gate closure reports. Highlighting any exceptions, assigning them to action owners, and checking that they are followed up on, ensuring consistency across product lines.
  • Work with support functions on internal and external material commits, noting any cases where they do not meet the criteria.
  • Collaborate with Operations teams to understand workforce capacity, ensuring that leave, sickness, and training levels meet production goals.
  • Collaborate with the larger SIOP team on long-term site capacity planning, including labour and tooling.
  • Maintain site planning tools and systems such as SAP, engine plans, output trackers, and automated scheduling software.
  • Schedule daily production meetings.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance staff to schedule preventative and critical maintenance while minimising interruption to the plan.

 

There are two roles available.

One of the roles will report to the Overhaul Planning Leader, and the primary focus will be Gate 1/3.

One of the posts will report to the Repair Planning Leader, and the major focus will be on Gate 2.

Both roles will be expected to flex across Gates 1, 2, and 3 to serve the company as needed.

 

Qualifications/Requirements

 

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Familiar with engine overhaul procedures
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel
  • Experienced with ERP systems (e.g., SAP)
  • Highly organised.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Effective problem detection skills
  • Strong team player.

 

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience in a planning and scheduling setting.
  • Understanding of Lean principles, specifically standard work
