Lancashire County Council is seeking a Building Services Mechanical Design Engineer to join the Building Design Team, part of the Asset Management Service.
Our Building Design staff is a diverse and specialised staff.We help to deliver a comprehensive capital strategy that invests in the county council’s property, which includes schools, libraries, museums, and offices. Our amazing team includes architects, mechanical and electrical engineers, structural engineers, and building services engineers.
We are looking for…
Creative and ambitious. Experienced Mechanical Design Engineer. As part of a small team, you’ll manage building projects from conception to completion, contributing to team performance along the way. You’ll support the Mechanical Project Manager and lead or support a variety of projects, including new and replacement heating systems, hot water, legionella mitigation, ventilation, air conditioning and gas installations. Your expert expertise will help to the administration of project finances, health and safety, surveys, and more. You’ll be confident and self-assured, with the ability to engage with a wide range of technical professionals and partners. Your aggressive yet diplomatic attitude will ensure that projects are completed on time, safely, and professionally.
As a mechanical design specialist for building services, you’ll be passionate about sustainability and carbon reduction. Your innovative approach will contribute to the decarbonisation of Lancashire’s infrastructure by replacing outdated heating systems with air-to-water heat pumps, installing solar panels, and more.The ideal candidate will be imaginative and creative, with a focus on future technology and knowledge of decarbonising building services for diverse portfolios.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Mechanical Building Services Design and be able to challenge external partners and multidisciplinary teams. They will also be confident in challenging processes and procedures to ensure legislative and strategic requirements are met. The role requires a calm, purposeful, and tactful approach to project delivery.
