JOB DESCRIPTION

We are currently seeking a Hardware Design Engineer to join our team.

 

 

What will our Hardware Design Engineer do?

You will be part of a small team of highly trained electronic engineers and project managers that will assist the Quality Labs team in delivering innovative test methodologies for product characterisation and validation. You will report to the Equipment Development Manager.

 

 

Among the key responsibilities will be

 

  • Providing complicated hardware solutions for power semiconductor device characterization

 

  • Working with Project Managers to provide design specifications based on the needs of stakeholders

 

  • Being in charge of the development of the Hardware, Firmware, and Software activities

 

  • Developing analogue and digital designs in accordance with specified specifications

 

  • Communicating the status of project delivery to key stakeholders (project management, marketing, testing, and application)

 

  • Through their efforts, junior engineers are supported and mentored.

 

 

What our Hardware Designer will require

 

Essential

 

  • Degree in Electronic Engineering and proven hardware design experience

 

  • Experience in analogue and digital design

 

  • Experience with high-speed and high-current design

 

  • Experience with simulation programmes such as LT Spice, SIMULINK, or others

 

  • Experience with the entire hardware product lifecycle, from concept to final solution

 

  • Strong specification drafting skills for development operations that are outsourced

 

  • Experience in CAD PCB design (Schematic and PCB)

 

  • Excellent communication skills are required to communicate difficult solutions to less experienced coworkers.

 

Beneficial

 

  • Understanding of power semiconductor devices such as MOSFETs, GaN, SiC, and IGBTs

 

  • Experience in microcontroller programming (ARM, ST, TI, PIC) and VHDL coding

 

  • Capability to project manage operations from plan delivery to execution, testing, and release

 

  • Technical leadership experience in complicated development teams

 

  • Experience developing test equipment

 

  • Capability to programme in LabVIEW

 

  • Understanding of automotive certification standards and reliability tests (HTRB, H3TRB, IOL, and so forth).
