We are now looking for a committed and compassionate nurse to join our multidisciplinary team and help shape the future of this growing service.

Where You’ll Be Based

This role is primarily located at the Princess Royal Hospital in Haywards Heath, with occasional work at other UH Sussex sites as service needs require.

About the Role

Band 7 – Qualified Urogynaecology Clinical Nurse Specialist.

If applying for the Band 7 position, you will already be an experienced Urogynaecology CNS with the confidence and skills to lead and deliver a high-quality, nurse-led service. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and coordinating a specialist caseload
  • Providing expert care such as vaginal pessary management, bladder training, catheter care and TWOCs
  • Performing and interpreting urodynamic testing
  • Delivering patient education and offering specialist advice
  • Contributing to service improvement, teaching, and clinical leadership

Band 6 – Trainee Urogynaecology Clinical Nurse Specialist

We also welcome applications for the trainee CNS position (Band 6). This post offers a structured development pathway to Band 7 upon completion of competencies, external courses, and in-house training. To be considered, you must have significant experience in Gynaecology or Urology nursing.

What You’ll Be Doing

As part of the Urogynaecology team, you will work alongside CNS colleagues, consultants, and the wider multidisciplinary team. Your role will involve:

  • Delivering specialist nurse-led clinics, including pessary insertion and management, urodynamics, bladder retraining, medication support, post-operative reviews, and catheter management
  • Providing highly specialist clinical expertise in line with NICE, RCOG, and BSUG guidance
  • Leading and participating in MDT meetings
  • Acting as a key contact for urogynaecology within Women’s Health, offering complex and sensitive advice to patients, families, and healthcare professionals
  • Collecting and analysing clinical data to support BSUG audits and service evaluation
  • Supporting the development of advanced services, including outpatient flexible cystoscopy, Botox treatment, Bulkamid urethral bulking, and sacral nerve stimulation
  • Collaborating across the Gynaecology service, including Colposcopy, Hysteroscopy, and General Outpatient Clinics
  • Teaching and supervising students and junior staff, contributing to education and professional development
  • Working autonomously, managing your own caseload and ensuring thorough clinical assessments
  • Maintaining up-to-date specialist knowledge and completing relevant training
  • Participating in the Trust’s appraisal and performance processes
  • Acting as a mentor to support learning within the team
