The role
In order to plan and provide high-quality, student-centered instruction for our taught (UG & PGT) and PGR courses, the School of Accounting, Economics, and Finance is seeking to recruit an exceptional applicant as Senior Teaching Fellow.
The primary responsibilities of the position will be to provide excellent instruction and student support in a variety of forms, provide engaging module materials, engaging learning activities, and creative curricula, and perform administrative and academic administration duties as needed. Also, the role will involve making a substantial contribution to our students’ development of employability skills, placement/practical experience, and marketing and outreach initiatives for student recruitment. The chosen applicant will actively participate in the life and work of the School/Faculty by supervising dissertations and practical/placement work within taught programs.
We encourage strong applications from candidates in all areas of accounting, but we will give preference to those who: I have an interest in or expertise in data analytics and/or forensic accounting in the context of modern accounting; and/or (ii) hold accounting professional qualifications and/or senior professional-accountancy experience in industry.
By maintaining a personal program of scholarly and pedagogical development, the appointee will be expected to fully engage in the ongoing development of the School’s learning and teaching profile. They will also receive support in the form of mentoring and opportunities for professional development.
The ideal candidate will possess:
● A certification in professional accounting and/or professional experience in pertinent corporate responsibilities
● Previous HE/FE teaching experience, ideally in accounting
