In order to become a Project Engineer on our Engineering Projects Team, Under the established scope of duty or specialization, the primary focus is on managing and carrying out the design, implementation, and start-up phases of capital investment projects on the manufacturing site. Verify that the goals of the investment project charter, the design requirements, and the Nestlé standards are put into practice and followed.

The typical day of a project engineer

We’re searching for a project engineer who can show a variety of abilities, from managing people to solving problems. In a market that is constantly changing and competitive, we never stand still, so you’ll need to have a commitment to continuous improvement.

• Coordinate and complete capital engineering projects on time and within approved budgets

• Support the creation of the project’s scope, schedule, and budget.

• Promote proper hygiene and safety standards and assist with project management to ensure projects are completed within agreed-upon timeframes and budgets.

• Encourage strict adherence to site regulations and health and safety laws

• Commissioning of machinery and equipment in accordance with established norms

• Develop timing plans and assist in developing the scope and budget for diverse projects with a range of £50k to £1m.

• Supervise and regulate the actions of outside contractors while they are working there.

• Coordinate project work with Operations and other local resources, as well as with R&D, Marketing, and Logistics, to determine the project’s scope, timeline, and budget.

• Aid multidisciplinary teams in achieving project objectives

• Consider the role’s environmental impact and adhere to any site environmental standards.

· Reporting any SHE-related occurrences or issues

· Support the HER goals for the site

This position requires occasional travel to Fawdon, Halifax, York, and Girvan. Depending on the project’s location and the needs of the home location, there may also be weekly overnight stays. What will Make you Successful?

Candidates with strong technical skills have an amazing opportunity to join the largest food company in the world.
Mechanical or electrical engineering degrees, apprenticeships, or certifications must have been successfully completed.

A project engineering position must have been held for at least five years.

  • Possess a strong technical foundation and hands-on experience working with Health & Safety regulations (CE, PUWER and machinery safety knowledge).

Ability to demonstrate leading or working on manufacturing projects, ideally in the FMCG industry; Knowledge of or expertise with CDM; and Knowledge and Understanding of Process and Packaging Equipment

  • Computer savvy, with experience with AutoCad LT, MS-Project, and MS-Office
