Position Summary
The Digital Experience & Web Content Strategist plays a vital role in shaping and executing EKU’s digital content strategy to support enrollment growth, student engagement, and retention. Reporting to the Executive Director of Digital Experience & Student Success Marketing, this position partners closely with departments across campus to ensure the university’s digital presence is student-focused, accessible, and aligned with EKU’s strategic goals.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Digital Media, Web Design, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
- Relevant experience may be considered as a substitute for the degree requirement.
Experience:
- At least 2 years of professional experience in web content strategy, UX design, or digital communications, preferably within higher education or a mission-driven organization.
- Proficiency with content management systems (e.g., Omni CMS, WordPress), basic HTML/CSS, and Google Analytics.
- Familiarity with SEO, responsive design, and digital accessibility standards.
- Experience managing multiple content streams and collaborating across teams.
- Working knowledge of CRM platforms such as Slate.
- Experience with A/B testing, heatmaps, or other user behavior tracking tools.

Key Responsibilities
- Content Development & Management – 40%
- Create, curate, and maintain digital content for EKU’s enrollment and student-facing websites.
- Ensure all content is accurate, up to date, accessible, and consistent with EKU’s brand.
- Collaborate with content owners to update pages and showcase the student experience.
- Apply SEO, metadata best practices, and UX design principles to maximize engagement.
- Support CMS maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate approvals with IT and Communications & Brand Management.
Analytics & Continuous Improvement – 30%
- Monitor website analytics, user behavior, and performance metrics to inform strategy.
- Conduct regular audits to verify accessibility compliance, responsiveness, and usability.
- Work with design and technical teams to optimize layouts, calls to action, and navigation.
Digital Campaign Support – 20%
- Develop web experiences to support multichannel campaigns, including landing pages, dynamic content, and personalized experiences integrated with CRM workflows.
- Collaborate with marketing and enrollment teams to test content variations and analyze results.
Cross-Departmental Collaboration – 10%
- Participate in meetings to align digital strategies with enrollment cycles and key communications (orientation, registration, financial aid).
- Act as a liaison with academic units to coordinate updates and content needs.
- Manage timelines, content calendars, and reporting for digital initiatives.
