Do you have a strong professional interest in addiction medicine and the treatment of substance abuse? California Correctional Health Care Services (CCHCS) is looking for clinical social workers who are licenced in California to join our Integrated Substance Use Disorder Treatment Programme (ISUDT). This newly established statewide programme is intended to provide integrated, specialised care to people who have a history of substance abuse and require further medical help. ISUDT professionals are dedicated to delivering excellent care, facilitating successful reintegration of patients into community, and reducing recidivism.
We have current openings at California State Prison, Los Angeles County, which is located in family-friendly Lancaster, northeast of Los Angeles. This bedroom community has modern neighbourhoods, a wide range of urban amenities, and great schools.
You will do the following as part of this programme and under the supervision of the Supervising Psychiatric Social Worker I:
- Screening and assessment for substance use disorders are provided in order to evaluate treatment needs and level of care.
- Create thorough treatment strategies.
- To deliver quality care, collaborate with the Primary Care Team.
- Provide short-term counselling intervention to clients with substance use disorders.
To succeed in this role, you must be:
- Knowledgeable in the assessment and treatment of substance use disorders
- Experienced in motivational interviewing
- knowledgeable about trauma-informed care

Special Conditions
