As part of this job, you will be making and changing design calculations, technical reports, engineering plans, and specs for projects that you are given. The person in this role works with the project manager to do research, development, calculations, design, and delivery. Uses engineering methods, procedures, and design standards for jobs of different sizes and levels of difficulty.

Uses technical knowledge and experience to deal with design-related problems or issues. Works closely with the project manager to meet deadlines by coming up with creative solutions to problems and talking to clients. Uses the latest drawing and technical tools, programmes, and software to come up with conceptual and thorough designs and calculations that will help the project get finished. May guide, teach, and look over the work of younger engineers and give them helpful feedback. As a team member, you will help guarantee the smooth completion of a wide range of projects for HNTB’s clients.

What You’re Going to Do:

• In this role, they are in charge of planning and assigning work based on their discipline, as well as making sure that projects stay on schedule and within price.

• Helps with marketing duties, such as coming up with proposals.

• Helps to define the work that needs to be done and the amount of difficulty for projects and/or assignments in the discipline.

• Makes sure that the project team’s work in the technical field is full and correct. leads and coaches the team to reach the project’s general goals.

• Coordinates the technical parts of the project with the client and working partners at the staff level for work in the same field.

• Works closely with people from other fields on projects that involve more than one field.

• Does other tasks as they are given.

Things you’ll need:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering and six years of work in the field, or

• Master’s degree in engineering and five years of work in the field, or

• PhD in engineering and four years of work in the field

What You Need to Bring:

• Make, look over, sign, and seal road engineering documents like plans, typical section packages, pavement designs, design exceptions or variations, specs, project reports, design calculations, cost estimates, and project schedules.

• Help with a range of Transportation Design jobs and tasks by using your knowledge of roadway engineering.

• CADD software is used to make road plans.

What We Prefer:

• Certification as a professional engineer (PE)
