Engineer in charge of projects for the Highway Department

What You’re Going to Do:

 

  • In this role, they are in charge of planning and assigning work based on their discipline, as well as making sure that projects stay on schedule and within price.

 

  • Helps with marketing duties, such as coming up with proposals.

 

  • Helps to define the work that needs to be done and the amount of difficulty for projects and/or assignments in the discipline.

 

  • Makes sure that the project team’s work in the technical field is full and correct. leads and coaches the team to reach the project’s general goals.

 

  • Coordinates the technical parts of the project with the client and working partners at the staff level for work in the same field.

 

  • Works closely with people from other fields on projects that involve more than one field.

 

  • Does other tasks as they are given.

 

 

 

 

 

What you’ll need:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering and six years of work in the field, or

 

  • Master’s degree in engineering and five years of work in the field, or

 

  • PhD in engineering and four years of work in the field

 

 

 

What You Need to Bring:

 

  • Is aware of how choices affect technical design and planning work.

 

  • Effectively coordinates planning and designing work across a number of technical areas.

 

  • Makes deliverables of good quality that are on time, on budget, and within the scope of the job.

 

 

 

What We Prefer:

 

  • Getting a Professional Engineer (PE) certificate.
