This position is eligible for a signing bonus of up to $10,000. Relocation assistance and visa sponsorship are available!

Wediko School/The Home for Little Wanderers is looking for a Classroom Teacher at their Hillsborough, New Hampshire location.Wediko School, located on 450 acres of lakefront, is a residential treatment centre that provides therapeutic and educational assistance to middle and high school-aged boys who are facing substantial social-emotional, behavioural, and academic issues.

How You’ll Make a Difference

The Wediko Classroom Teacher oversees all elements of instruction and classroom management in assigned courses. Classroom teachers at Wediko School are in charge of lesson planning as well as monitoring and reporting on student progress. Wediko School Classroom Teachers collaborate closely with assistant teachers and other school officials to demonstrate positive behaviour in the classroom and surrounding area. Furthermore, Wediko School Classroom Teachers are accountable for developing and maintaining frameworks that promote student safety and learning.

Classroom Competency

Plan and direct Wediko School classroom and tutorial instruction.
Create an environment in which classroom behaviour expectations are clear and consistent.
Establish and demonstrate pleasant and suitable working connections with Wediko School students.
Integrate technology into relevant areas of the students’ academic programmes.

Therapeutic Milieu

Provide a supportive, safe, and consistent environment for Wediko students in the dorms (direct care).
Make yourself available to lead or assist with group transitions.
Provide consistent structures for breakfast and lunchtime routines.

Monitor student progress.

Give Wediko students prompt and relevant feedback on their work.
Use the Wediko School student/parent interface to record timely and accurate data.
Complete and submit unit plans and student portfolios to administration by the dates.

Supervision

Take up a supervisory role during weekly classroom meetings.
Offer assistance and feedback to Wediko School Assistant Teachers.

Support

Complete paperwork in a consistent, professional, and timely manner.
Respond correctly to Wediko School supervisory demands and expectations about job-related activities.
Support and assist members of the Wediko School and dorm teams.

Professional Development

Maintain your licensure.
Collaborate with content area consultants to ensure compliance with licensure standards in specific content areas and obtain the necessary knowledge to offer content area training.
Seek out more resources (such as workshops, professional seminars, and ongoing education).
Actively participate in oversight and teacher training.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with New Hampshire Special Education certification or eligibility for a Statement of Eligibility (SOE). For the proper candidate, the Wediko School will guide them through the Site-Based Internship process to earn full licensure.
Strong communication skills.
Requirements for this position include the ability to work independently and collaboratively, as well as satisfactory completion of CPI training.
Preferred driving record allows pupils to be transported in Wediko vehicles.
