This person will be responsible for assisting with forward model and capacity assessments for all milestones, including Direct and Indirect Labour in Powertrain, Vehicle Operations, and Battery Cell Manufacturing efforts.
This role will be mostly hybrid, with potential travel to several industrial sites in the future.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead a team to create a new model for labour optimisation in order to meet labour targets by benchmarking (internal and external), goal setting, tracking process modifications, and replicating across programmes.
- Lead the creation and implementation of labor-related battery production strategies, procedures, guidelines, a bill of process, and manufacturing design standards to ensure programme consistency.
- Increase your understanding of battery cell industrial engineering.
- Collaboration and close collaboration with manufacturing engineering, material handling, ergonomics, finance, and/or plant workers are required.
- Motivate teams to make the best use of labour and equipment by communicating and collaborating with multi-functional groups (e.g., Manufacturing Engineering, PD, Plant Operations, etc.).
- Drive and implement labour efficiency by using global IE processes, tools, and standards.
- Maintain a professional and favourable image of Ford Motor Company with all partners (Joint Ventures, Industry Forums, etc.).
- As required by programme teams, support concurrent engineering meetings with equipment manufacturers (OEMs).
- Work with plants to execute and assess time studies using MODAPTS as the work standard measurement instrument.
- Incorporate Manufacturing Continuous Improvement/Lessons Learned approaches to find the Best in Class methods.
- Employees must be led, mentored, coached, counselled, recognised, and empowered as needed.
- Establish and maintain consistent priorities to make the most use of engineering resources.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Engineering Bachelor’s Degree
- 5+ years of leadership experience in an engineering organisation
- MODAPTS, time studies, and labour analysis experience
- Working experience in a dynamic, ever-changing setting
- Excellent communicator
- Excellent organisational and planning abilities
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in plant industrial engineering and manufacturing operations is preferred.
- Knowledge in battery cell production is preferred.
