Job Description

PhD or MS students are eligible to apply for a Graduate Research Assistantship through the Ohio State University Stormwater Management Programme, which will allow them to concentrate on research on stormwater management, water quality, construction site runoff, erosion and sediment control, and other related areas. The program’s goal is to address how urbanisation and development affect water resources by using natural treatment mechanisms like green stormwater infrastructure to alleviate these effects holistically.

Qualifications and Eligibility:

M.S. (recommended) or B.S. with strong academic standing and a possible interest in a Ph.D.

Experience in the fields of environmental science, biological and agricultural engineering, civil engineering, and environmental engineering.

Although not necessary, prior experience or familiarity with sediment and erosion management strategies is preferred.

Strong communication abilities, particularly in technical writing.

Job Summary:

Stormwater Management Programme at Ohio State University: Graduate Research Assistantship (MS or PhD)

The chosen candidate will oversee and carry out field research on sediment traps, basins, and retrofit techniques to improve sediment removal on construction sites for transportation throughout Ohio and beyond. There may be further research opportunities available in the area of laboratory testing and modelling of technologies for treating construction silt. This fully financed initiative aims to create solutions for runoff from building sites and promotes cooperation with consulting engineers.
