Job Summary
The Staff Therapist position will require increasing and robust generalist clinical skills/experience. They will help provide treatment services to Purdue students using a range of modalities. Staff members contribute to clinical service delivery by providing solo, couples, and group therapy; on-call services; triage; and substance use, misuse, and dependency therapies. Staff also conducts outreach and consultations. Licenced staff supervises therapists in training as needed.

What We’re Looking For
Education and experience are required.
Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical or Counselling Psychology, as well as a Masters degree in a related discipline
Current Indiana licence, or licence qualifying for the following:
(1) Ph.D. or Psy.D. candidates without a current Indiana licence must establish their current eligibility to achieve state HSPP licensure standards within 18 months of hire; or
(2) Master’s candidates without a current Indiana licence must demonstrate current eligibility to meet state LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, or comparable licence requirements within 30 months of hiring.
Candidates pursuing doctoral training with ABD status will be considered.
The candidate must complete the PhD degree within one year of the commencement date and get the licence in accordance with the timeframe outlined above. Supervision will be offered for doctorate candidates.
Minimum of 0-2 years of related experience.
Preferred:
One year of general therapy experience.
Interest and experience supporting underrepresented populations (including racial/ethnic underserved communities, such as our African-American, Latinx, Asian-American, Native American students, and those identified by other dimensions of identity).
Skills:
Provide group and individual therapy, as well as clinical supervision. Ability to create and present seminars on the provision of these skills.
You must be licenced (eligible) in the state of Indiana. Supervision will be offered for doctorate candidates.
Strong generalist treatment skills.
The ability to evaluate and diagnose clients, make decisions regarding the severity of clients’ problems, and create and implement suitable therapy treatment activities is fundamental.
Skills and interest in outreach and consultation.
Confidentiality and ethical practices
Independent judgement and discretion.
Interest in intercultural counselling and values related to social justice.
Must be able to interact successfully with students, staff, teachers, and other members of the university community.
Specific interest in one or more of the therapeutic areas and communities listed below: Interest and experience supporting various clients and communities: group therapy; substance use, misuse, and dependence difficulties; eating disorders; international students; and/or dealing with marginalised people in general.
