Job Title: Staff Nurse – 24.66 Hours per Week
Location: D Ward/Orthopaedic Admissions Unit, Wrightington Hospital
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Staff Nurse to join our team, working 24.66 hours per week. The current working hours are Monday to Friday, with day shifts from 07:00 to 20:00. There are no weekend, Bank Holiday, or night shifts required.
About the Role
You will be based on D Ward/Orthopaedic Admissions Unit at Wrightington Hospital, which is a dedicated Admission and Day Case Unit for Lower Limb Orthopaedic Surgery. The role will involve managing the admission process for patients undergoing Orthopaedic surgery, providing pre- and post-operative care, facilitating nurse-led discharges for day cases, administering medication, and working closely with the multi-disciplinary team (MDT) to ensure high-quality care.

Valid NMC registration is required for shortlisting.

Key Responsibilities
Manage the admission of patients for Orthopaedic surgery.

On-Call Information
Please note that senior roles (AFC band 8A or above) may require participation in an on-call rota if the role is primarily operational.
