Job Title: Programme Manager – Humber Diabetic Eye Screening Programme (HDESP)
Location: Humber Region (North and South Bank

Due to an internal promotion, we are seeking an autonomous and dynamic leader to take on the role of Programme Manager for the Humber Diabetic Eye Screening Programme (HDESP). In this position, you will lead the delivery of eye screening services across the North and South Bank of the Humber, ensuring a high-performing and effective service for diabetic patients.

The Humber Diabetic Eye Screening Programme provides a vital photographic eye screening service for approximately 63,000 diabetic patients, focusing on the early detection of diabetic eye disease.

Key Responsibilities:

As Programme Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of HDESP. This will include:

Implementing and managing systems and processes to ensure the effective delivery of services in line with Group-wide policies and National Screening Service specifications.

Leading the exciting expansion of the service, including the introduction of Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) surveillance pathways for patients with diabetic eye disease.

Directly managing the HDESP managers and supporting them in the delivery and performance management of the services, ensuring that key performance targets, quality standards, and resource constraints are met.

Developing and implementing performance management mechanisms at the programme level and fostering workforce development.

Collaborating with the Clinical Lead to develop and deliver a strategic vision for the programme, ensuring that service changes meet both internal and external expectations and standards.

Understanding business requirements and using modernisation techniques to implement service improvements, ensuring the changes align with patient expectations and meet clinical performance targets.
