Job Title: Nurse – The Queen’s Centre Outpatient Department
Location: Queen’s Centre, CHH
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
The Queen’s Centre Outpatient Department, located within the Queen’s Centre at CHH, provides a dedicated service to patients with both malignant and non-malignant oncological and haematological conditions. We are seeking an enthusiastic nurse to join our dynamic and busy team.
The department offers state-of-the-art outpatient services, including medical consultations, radiotherapy treatments, and a large day unit providing intravenous therapy. With excellent resources, we deliver specialist care to our patients.
Main Duties of the Job:
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key tasks:
- Accessing CVADs (Central Venous Access Devices).
- Assessing blood results to determine if interventions are needed.
- Administering injections as part of patients’ overall treatment plans.
Full training will be provided. Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team are essential, as patients are cared for across both ward and clinic areas.
It is crucial for the post holder to either possess or be willing to work towards a post-basic qualification in a relevant field, as well as to complete the SACT UKONS Passport.
As part of your development, you will be given four weeks of supernumerary time along with a full mentorship package. The role also offers an opportunity for you to develop and supervise others, so a teaching, assessing, or mentoring qualification is desirable.
