Job Summary:

This position is open to registered neonatal nurses or newly qualified nurses.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide and maintain high standards of evidence-based, patient-centred care.
• Develop practical skills within the neonatal specialty while reflecting our core philosophy of care.
• Deliver daily patient care, using a multidisciplinary approach to ensure a holistic approach to patient and family involvement.
• Experienced Band 5 nurses will also be expected to provide clinical and managerial leadership in the absence of senior team members, empowering staff to deliver effective, evidence-based care.

Person Specification:

Qualifications:

Essential:

• Registered Nurse (part 1, 7, or 10 of the NMC register).
• Degree or working towards a degree.
• Teaching/Mentorship Qualification.

Desirable:

• Foundation in neonatology.
• Specialist qualification in neonatology.

Experience:

Essential:

• Post-registration experience in neonates.
• Teaching experience or ability to mentor junior staff.

Additional Criteria:

Essential:

• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong analytical and judgement skills.
• Effective planning and organisational skills.

Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Check:
