Production Team Lead – GE Aviation

We are seeking a Production Team Lead to join our dynamic team at our Chandlers Ford facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the production and maintenance of various equipment, such as helicopter rotor blade trackers, aircraft cables, and signal condition units for engine debris monitoring. We prioritize Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost as the core principles that drive our operations.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the manufacture and repair of electro-mechanical assemblies.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics to assist in the assembly, troubleshooting, and fault finding across a wide range of products.
  • Act with integrity and uphold the best interests of the business at all times.
  • Ensure efficient time management to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
  • Develop and implement strategies for the team to meet set goals and objectives.
  • Provide clear instructions and guidance to team members.
  • Actively listen to feedback from team members and champion Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Oversee the flow of daily operations and manage production schedules.
  • Track and report on team progress and performance metrics to the wider company.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Electrical Engineering qualification (HNC level or equivalent).

Experience:

  • Experience in PCB assembly is required.
  • Leadership or coaching experience is highly desired.

Certifications:

  • IPC610 certification is a plus.

Skills:

  • Hand placing and soldering of through-hole and surface mount components.
  • Performing, inserting, and cropping component leads with hand tools.
  • Modifying assemblies, such as adding wire links.
  • Identifying common components and decoding values.
  • Ability to work from written instructions and bills of materials.
  • Experience in crimping and cable assembly.
  • Testing products in accordance with relevant documentation.
  • Knowledge of PCB design and circuit diagrams.
  • Strong fault-finding and repair skills in electronic components.
