About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified Teacher of Science to join our Science Department for a September 2025 start. The ideal candidate will have the ability to deliver high-quality teaching across Key Stages 3 and 4. While offering A-level teaching would be an advantage, it is not essential. Passion for Science and an innovative approach in the classroom are key attributes we are looking for.

Science is a core subject at the Academy, and we continue to invest in its development to ensure the highest standards. We welcome applications from both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs). A comprehensive induction based on the Early Career Framework will be provided to ECTs.

About the Academy

Ormiston Bushfield Academy, rated “Good” by OFSTED (December 2019), is conveniently located near the borders of Cambridgeshire, Northamptonshire, and Lincolnshire, with excellent transport links. The Academy is expanding due to its growing popularity, having opened a new £6 million wing in September 2018, complementing the £20.6 million state-of-the-art building completed in 2012. These modern facilities create an inspiring learning environment for students. The Academy continues to build on its successes, with strong GCSE and A-Level results.

We encourage visits to the Academy and welcome informal discussions for those interested in this position.

About the Trust

Ormiston Bushfield Academy is part of Ormiston Academies Trust (OAT), one of the largest and most established trusts in the UK. OAT is committed to providing every child with the opportunity to thrive, guided by the belief that every student deserves a chance to succeed. By joining the OAT family, you will become part of a collaborative and supportive community that values professional growth, excellence, and the pursuit of meaningful impact.

Can inspire students, using enthusiasm to help them achieve their full potential.

Is confident in using systems and data tracking to monitor progress.

Can effectively communicate with students, parents, and colleagues.

Works well as part of a team to raise academic standards.

We Offer:

A supportive, well-established department committed to raising student attainment.

Development opportunities through nationally recognized training courses.

Access to a range of resources and opportunities through our Academy Trust.

Laptops provided to all staff.

Ongoing guidance and support from both the department and senior leadership team.
