Job Description and Main Responsibilities:

Essential Criteria:

• Proven ability to align with the Trust’s values.

Education & Professional Qualifications:

Essential: Minimum Level 3 Childcare qualification (e.g., NNEB, NVQ, CACHE or equivalent).

Desirable: Paediatric First Aid Certificate, Food Hygiene Certificate.

Experience:

Essential:

• Extensive experience working with children in a nursery setting.
• Supervising children in a room.
• Working independently and as part of a team.
• Solid understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), Statutory Framework, and the 7 areas of learning.
• Promoting inclusion, equality, and individuality.
• Awareness of Safeguarding Children procedures.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety and Practical Hygiene standards.
• Understanding of food hygiene and healthy eating principles.

Skills and Aptitudes:

Essential:

• Clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Basic IT skills.
• Confidence in communicating with parents, children, and colleagues.

Personal Qualities & Attributes:

Essential:

• Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
• Willingness to learn and develop professionally.
• Adaptability and flexibility.

Desirable: Demonstrated creativity.

Other Requirements:

Essential:

• Flexibility to cover all sites as needed.
• Ability to work varying shifts to ensure appropriate ratios are maintained.
• Willingness to perform additional duties as required by the Nursery Manager.
