The Glasgow School of Art is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Regenerative Materials and Prototyping Technician to join the Technical Support Team (TSD) at our picturesque Highlands and Islands Campus near Forres. This is an exciting opportunity for a creative individual who thrives in a dynamic, educational environment.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and managing the operations of the new Regenerative Materials Lab in collaboration with two other Technicians, as part of the TSD Altyre team. You will play a key role in maintaining a welcoming, accessible Maker Space that meets the needs of both students and staff, while ensuring compliance with health and safety guidelines and best practices.

The ideal candidate will have an HND or equivalent experience in regenerative materials, including mycelium, bio-plastics, bio-composites, and bio-based material design and prototyping. You should be capable of offering innovative material solutions to creative challenges, blending traditional handcrafting techniques with contemporary innovations. As part of a new facility, you will have the opportunity to shape the direction of this exciting field and contribute to the growth of this unique space alongside the Altyre team.
