Summary

We are presently hiring for a Control Account Manager to work within Test Systems as a project manager, use experience and knowledge to solve problems, define and execute targets for self and others. The selected candidate will be expected to influence short-term and long-term business objectives. Accountable to the Engineering Project Manager (EPM) for completing the scope associated with the selected control accounts (CAs) within the budget, time, and quality restrictions. The Test System Department designs and develops cutting-edge specialised test hardware and software, test harnesses, and documentation for all upcoming Avionics and Power products. Working together with third-party manufacturers to produce test equipment to our specifications. To support NPI development, we also design and construct a range of smaller test boxes, breakout boxes, and conduct in-house testing.

 

Job Description.

Key responsibilities:

 

  • Lead the project execution of the allocated engineering team, ensuring that obligations are met while also coordinating and organising teams. Motivating and directing, offering leadership and vision while pushing execution excellence in a compliance manner.

 

  • Engage with support functions across the matrix as needed to meet engineering objectives.

 

  • Makes commitments to the Engineering Project Manager (EPM) on behalf of their team to deliver the allocated scope within the agreed-upon cost, schedule, and quality criteria.

 

  • Engage functional organisations to secure the resources and skill sets required to complete the allocated scope. Work with functional leaders to identify and resolve any performance issues within the given team.

 

  • Drives risk management best practices and quantifies engineering risk for the EPM using a local engineering risk registry. Proactively design risk mitigation initiatives within the team to reduce project impacts.

 

  • Work to identify and quantify internal and external dependencies, and make sure they are reflected in the project plans.

 

  • Work within the programme and project change process to ensure that any agreed-upon scope adjustments are “consumed” by the engineering team in a controlled and coordinated manner, and the change impacts are reflected in the detailed engineering plans.

 

  • Sticking to the places Monthly operational rhythm (MOR), updating comprehensive plans for assigned tasks, and communicating with the Programme Management Office (PMO) to report monthly status and plans to the project schedule. Prepare variance reports and collaborate with the EPM to identify and, if possible, resolve cost or schedule deviations.

 

  • Assist the EPM with stakeholder reviews, including internal programme or business reviews and external customer evaluations; provide the relevant KPIs and operational data for the allocated CAs to support these reviews.

 

  • Serve as the initial point of contact (POC) for managing external suppliers. Facilitate technical communication between the supplier and the engineering team. Escalate and collaborate with the sourcing team to resolve any supplier performance or contract negotiation difficulties.
