About the role
As Events Operations Manager, you will head the Events Operations team, which is part of the External Relations department and supports the University’s strategic objectives in terms of recruitment and boosting the University’s visibility, reputation, and impact locally, nationally, and globally.
The Events Operations team is in charge of the strategic development and execution of a comprehensive and diverse yearly events calendar, with a focus on producing high-quality events with a significant effect. These include open days, interviews, school and college visits, conferences, graduation, events sponsored by the Vice-Chancellor, community events, inaugural/guest lectures, virtual, live-streamed events, and many more.
The Events Operations Manager’s duty is to guarantee that all events are managed and delivered to the highest standards while maximising external impact. You will be in charge of the operational planning and execution of the annual events schedule, as well as occasional ad hoc events. You will assist the Associate Director – Student Recruitment in constantly creating and improving the University’s events programme to ensure that events at Derby continue to appeal to a wide audience and achieve our strategic goals.
Due to the nature of this employment, you must be willing and flexible to work outside of standard office hours as needed, including evenings and weekends.
