The University of Portsmouth is offering an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Supervisor to work at our location in the City of Portsmouth.
The Electrical Supervisor will be accountable to the Reactive Maintenance Manager and be in charge of supervising staff and contractors to ensure effective and efficient use of resources and budgets for the completion of reactive and maintenance works. All work must be completed efficiently, in accordance with university procedures and statutory laws.
Your main responsibilities are:
To guarantee that the university’s built assets are maintained to the greatest standards, the following should be maintained, inspected, tested, repaired, and given minor work:
● Lighting devices and systems
● Alarm systems for fires
● LV Electrical Distribution apparatus and systems
The ideal applicant will have the following qualities:
● Capability to manage/supervise employees and contracts
● Capable of successful cross-level communication
● Capable of setting priorities and deadlines for one’s own work as well as those of others.
● Display exemplary customer service abilities
● Capacity to efficiently and effectively handle maintenance and reactive demands
What you will require for the position:
● Fully qualified electrician ( recognised electrical apprenticeship).
● Electrical installation and maintenance/repair experience.
● Knowledge of current health and safety regulations in relation to workplace electrical safety
● Work experience in a huge organization or multi-building complex
