About the location:
Croydon offers great state and private schools. South London & Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLaM) provides mental health care to CUH patients through the Croydon Mental Health Liaison service. We are an ageless service, as is the Older Adult Liaison Psychiatry service.
About the Team:
The Croydon University Hospital Mental Health Assessment Unit is part of the Liaison Services and offers psychiatric assessments and treatment to anyone aged 18 and up to determine whether they require mental health care and treatment. The programme is for people who live in the London Borough of Croydon, and our goal is to provide them with the skills they require to treat their mental health issues. We provide a 24-hour service to Croydon University Hospital, providing rapid assessment and intervention to patients. Our team consists of nurses, doctors, an occupational therapist, and a clinical psychologist.

About this role
We have substantive vacancies for Band 4, Senior Support Workers at the Clinical Assessment Unit.
The position holders will assist nurses in performing patient reviews and watching patients to determine their needs, strengths, and issues.
Providing emotional support, direction, and encouragement to patients while they are in the evaluation unit.
Effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare professionals is essential to ensure that everyone is informed of the patient’s requirements, progression, and concerns.
Offer person-centered support in a planned and coordinated manner.
We are searching for a forward-thinking, creative, and responsive senior support worker who is passionate about people and family-centered care; you must be enthusiastic, creative, resilient, and able to respond to others in a flexible manner.
This dynamic profession provides good opportunity for gaining experience and skills in an acute hospital setting. Successful candidates would be expected to perform a 24-hour shift, including weekends and bank holidays.
