JOB DESCRIPTION
The postholder will be employed by the University of Reading and will work at Waitrose’s Leckford Farm in Stockbridge, Hampshire.
This role is part of a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) sponsored by Innovate UK. This is a
A 36-month fixed-term contract based full-time at Leckford offers the opportunity to help Waitrose achieve its goal of becoming a leader in the adoption of regenerative farming in the UK.
Apply your abilities to promote ambitious change throughout the Waitrose supply chain and wider retail landscape, thereby improving the sustainability of food production at the farm level. You will play a critical role in the creation of a Regenerative Agriculture (Transition) Programme Package (REAPP), which will provide farmers with engagement and communication models via a variety of tools and communication interventions, including virtual, printed, interactive, and in-person training resources. You will contribute to Waitrose’s long-term environmental and financial sustainability by increasing supplier resilience to climatic and economic shocks, resulting in increased profitability.
Skill improvement through training.
There is a £6,000 training fund dedicated to your personal development in addition to residential management skills training.

You’ll have:
- A master’s degree in agriculture, ecological or environmental science, or equivalent experience.
We require the following essential skills at a minimum:
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent communication skills.
- teamwork skills
- Ability to provide creative solutions to complex problems.
- Direct experience working in a farming environment.
- Understanding of sustainable agricultural techniques
- Experience leading/managing commercial projects, with a knowledge of the multidimensional nature of a KTP project.
