Professor of Architecture

About the Role
We are now looking for a Professor of Architecture. You are expected to contribute to the development of new and existing research talent within the School, as well as to the advancement of your own research profile. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow and demonstrate your research leadership. You should have an international reputation and a track record of producing world-class research, generating income, and increasing capacity.
For additional information, please see the position profile. We will still examine applications even if you do not satisfy all of the standards, so don’t be discouraged if you don’t exactly match them.

We have a well-equipped research infrastructure, including a cutting-edge heritage CAVE facility. During REF2021, 86% of our research was considered world-leading or internationally good.

About Us:
The School of Architecture, Design, and the Built Environment (ADBE), with over 3,000 students, is one of the largest in the United Kingdom. We provide a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses in Architecture, Architecture Technology, and Interior Architecture & Design.
In the School of Architecture, Design, and the Built Environment, we are halfway between science and philosophy, tradition and disruption. We value theoretical rigour and stress on offering hands-on experience to all of our students. We value design tradition and encourage innovation.
We were a nationally recognised stage for talent in making and design. We look at the materiality of tools, technology, glass, grass, and bricks and mortar. We also look at the abstract appeal of ideas and creative ideologies.
