About Us

For young people with learning challenges and challenging behavior between the ages of 8 and 18, Drove Road offers a combination of short getaways and full-time placements. Numerous of our young people have complex needs related to their Autism. Each young person’s unique needs are met by our committed staff, and they are encouraged to grow and learn while having fun in a pleasant, secure, stimulating, and homelike atmosphere. Emphasis is placed especially on independence-promoting abilities.

About the role

About you

As a senior care officer, you will support and manage a staff team in addition to evaluating and reviewing the needs of young people. You will require:

● Possess a Level 3 Certificate for Residential Childcare (or a comparable certification) and be willing to pursue a Level 5 Diploma while working in the position.

● The capacity to supervise/cover shifts on the rota and offer senior cover on shift

● Supervision of home care aides, caretakers, and agency personnel during shifts and monthly 1:1s (or an equal level of expertise).

● knowledge of attending reviews and writing reports about young people to discuss their needs with senior staff, families, and other professionals on a regular basis.

● Experience running and taking part in staff meetings, training sessions, and meetings with young people.

● Having involvement in the hiring and/or training of new employees

● Strong verbal and written communication skills for daily notes, emails, and phone calls with families and other professionals.

● For administering medications and scheduling a shift, you should have solid organizational and math skills.

● The capacity to act independently and think swiftly under pressure, helping your coworkers and yourself to stay safe when confronted with challenging behavior

● The capacity to handle the physical, emotional, and mental demands of the job, such as the ability to restrain young people using restrictive measures in accordance with their behavior support plans

● An unblemished Enhanced DBS Certificate

You must be able to work the following four-week rolling schedule:

● Early shifts are from 7 am to 2 pm (until 11.00am in term time)

● Shifts that end late: 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

● Two weekends every month at work

● Responsibility to sleep in once per month

● One admin day each week will be allotted to you as a Senior Care Officer.
