Registered Mental Health Nurse
Job Description
Registered Mental Health Nurse – Full-Time Opportunity
Location: Priory Hospital Hazelwood House, Heath, Chesterfield, Derbyshire
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
About the Role and Our Service
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) to become part of our supportive and close-knit team at Priory Hospital Hazelwood House. This is a low-secure facility providing specialised care for up to 14 adult males experiencing mental health challenges, often alongside learning disabilities, autism spectrum conditions, or other complex needs. We also offer diagnostic assessments like WAIS and ADOS for patients awaiting NHS evaluations.
In this rewarding position, you’ll contribute directly to patients’ recovery journeys by delivering compassionate, individualised care. Working collaboratively with experienced colleagues, you’ll help implement evidence-based therapies that empower people to regain confidence and achieve greater independence.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting senior staff in assessing needs, developing care plans, and carrying out daily tasks to promote patients’ wellbeing, dignity, and progress
- Providing prescribed nursing care to a designated group of patients within established guidelines
- Acting as a named nurse: assessing, planning, and delivering care in partnership with patients, their families, or carers, while respecting individual preferences
- Regularly observing and interacting with patients to evaluate their needs and track improvements
- Monitoring, updating, and reviewing care plans to ensure they remain effective and relevant
Every day brings variety—some challenging, others incredibly fulfilling—and your empathy and resilience will make a real difference during both the ups and downs.
