Job Description

Our Purpose

Working together for a happier world – our common purpose that governs everything we do and inspires three fundamental principles: happier people, happier business, and happier world. The John Lewis Partnership is a genuinely unique company that strives to improve the lives of all people.

Responsibilities and duties:

It is our job as Partners – members of the Partnership – to assure our future prosperity. We aggressively explore chances to consistently enhance the way we work, taking steps to ensure that the Partnership is efficient and that we are all as productive as possible. It’s an ideal that each and every Partner lives by, and one that you’ll bring into your own career as well.

Waitrose & Partners is all about enriching experiences, and this applies to both our workers – our Partners – and our customers. We want you to have fun at work and share your love of cuisine with our clients. So we’ll train you, treat you with respect, and then reward you by providing you a cut of the earnings for bringing it all together and contributing to our success.

We’re looking for someone that is up to speed on food and beverage trends, knows our products, and takes pride in all they do, doing everything to the highest standards and ensuring the shop floor is in tip-top shape for when our clients come. We want every customer to enjoy their shopping experience, be confident in our products, and confident in our Partners, whether they are shopping for a healthy lunch, a stock up on fresh fruit and vegetables, the weekly purchase, or a special event.

Job Requirements:

A supermarket assistant’s responsibilities include advising and serving clients, moving and replacing merchandise, doing housekeeping jobs, and managing cash and card transactions in accordance with established processes. Partners may be expected to work in any area of the branch to assist the larger staff as needed, as well as to maintain proper business attire and cleanliness standards.

Further information:

As a Partner, you will benefit from our one-of-a-kind benefits package, which includes a staff discount, subsidised food in Partner dining rooms, discounts at local restaurants, subsidised learning, access to exclusive Partnership hotels, and much more.

We at the John Lewis Partnership value our diversity. We want you to be who you are. We know you’re at your best when you’re allowed to be yourself. To us, being a truly inclusive company means establishing an environment that recognises and values your contributions, regardless of age, gender, race, ethnicity, handicap, sexual orientation, social background, religion, or belief.
