About the Role
Student Support & Safeguarding is seeking experienced professionals to join the Disability Service team. As a Disability Advisor, you will provide tailored advice and support to disabled students, helping them overcome barriers to their academic success.
Your primary responsibilities include:
- Assessing students’ needs and recommending personalised reasonable adjustments.
- Assisting students in accessing specialist funded support, such as Disabled Students Allowance (DSA).
- Coordinating support with University services, academic departments, and external agencies.
- Conducting in-person and remote appointments with students to address their needs.
You will play a key role in fostering an inclusive environment that supports students in achieving their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality advice and disability-related support to students.
- Develop individualised support plans to ensure accessibility and academic success.
- Build collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders to address student needs effectively.
- Maintain accurate records of student interactions and ensure compliance with relevant policies and legislation.
About You
We are looking for compassionate and organised professionals with:
- Experience: Demonstrated case management experience, particularly working with individuals with disabilities, mental health conditions, or long-term medical needs.
- Knowledge: A thorough understanding of equality, diversity, and inclusion principles, as well as legislative requirements.
- Skills: Strong organisational abilities, attention to detail, and the capacity to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Communication: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to engage with a diverse student body.

Additional Information
- Hybrid Working: The role requires in-person engagement with students, but hybrid arrangements are supported, with flexibility depending on student demand.
