Summary
Do you wish to be the owner of weld and heat treat specific procedures in a developing business that is always investing in cutting-edge technology? If so, this position might be for you. As a member of the larger Engineering Team, you will report to the New Product Introduction Leader and act as a liaison between the shopfloor and product line engineering teams to ensure all aspects of special processes are under quality control and to challenge processes to become more streamlined through increased automation and efficiency.

Roles and responsibilities
- Championing important site deliverables such as safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
- Candidates should have an engineering qualification and/or strong technical expertise in production or manufacturing engineering.
- Review technical documentation to guarantee quality and efficiency across procedures.
- Maintain a culture of continual improvement and the application of Lean principles.
- To keep on track with quality control, conduct proactive audit programmes.
- Lead your process-related projects from start to finish, including product quality, compliance, and process yield.
- Work closely with the SPO team, EH&S, Maintenance, Operations, and NPI Project Leader to ensure that projects and minor site adjustments meet GE Aviation Management of Change criteria.
- A major participant in charge of coordinating complex licenced and proprietary repairs.
- As a subject matter expert, I finish off audit findings and quality reports using RCCA.
- Work closely with the NPI Project Leader to develop and implement projects that satisfy the business’s strategic needs, as well as to establish the business case using data-driven evaluation.
- Participate in the site’s general engineering activities and issues, including the current daily shop management structures.
- Part of Gate 2’s strategic ambitions.
- It is expected that the scope of this function expand as the successful candidate’s expertise and experience grow.
Required Qualifications
- Strong technical background in weld and heat treating techniques.
- Understand and demonstrate process control.
- Experience with process auditing
