Position Details:

  • Role: Transmission Line Worker
  • Sector: Electrical
  • Employment Type: Full-time
  • Working Hours:
    • Summer: 10 hours per day
    • Winter: 9 hours per day

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow all health and safety protocols.
  • Have a thorough understanding of UK regulations relevant to Transmission Line Engineers.
  • Perform tasks with a strong focus on discipline and safety.
  • Conduct rigging operations.
  • Execute blocking (dressing) and clipping-in (suspension) on tension and suspension towers.
  • Handle spacering tasks using a spacer trolley.
  • Apply earthing schemes to overhead line (OHL) conductors.
  • Operate platforms, ladders, and pladders safely.
  • Carry out jointing tasks such as socks, stockings, and permanent joints.
  • Perform jumpering activities.
  • Replace in-situ steel on towers.
  • Interpret schematic diagrams and technical drawings.
  • Collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Maintain a proactive and hard-working attitude.

Candidate Requirements:

  • At least three years of experience in high-voltage transmission line projects, including:
    • Working at heights.
    • Maintenance of high-voltage transmission lines.
    • High-voltage OHL tension/stringing operations.
    • Tower assembly/erection using cranes or derricks (e.g., Falcon).
  • Desirable Qualifications and Skills:
    • Relevant formal qualifications.
    • Experience with pullers, tensioners, erection tools, or tractor winches.
    • A valid UK driving licence (support for conversion provided if needed).

For International Applicants:

  • Must meet the Home Office Skilled Worker Visa requirements, including:
    • Passing UKVI IELTS or proof of English language proficiency.
    • Obtaining a clear Tuberculosis test (if applicable).
    • Having a clean immigration history.
