About the Role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Stroke Rehabilitation Assistant to join our Acute Stroke Team at Ipswich Hospital. If you have a keen interest in stroke care and want to be part of a specialist team responding to TIA, hyper-acute, and acute stroke patients, this role is for you.
As a key member of the stroke nursing team, you will ensure the delivery of high-quality stroke care. You will work within a multi-professional team that provides 24/7 hyper-acute stroke care. This role offers the chance to develop your skills in stroke patient care and complete stroke-related competencies to maintain high standards of care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the rehabilitation needs of stroke patients under the direction of the multidisciplinary team.
- Follow individual patient treatment plans to achieve rehabilitation goals and maximize independence.
- Assist patients in the Rapid Assessment Unit under the guidance of the Ward Sister/Stroke Specialist Nurse.
- Maintain excellent communication and teamwork within the stroke care team.
- Commit to ongoing professional development and enhance your stroke clinical skills and knowledge.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- A background in healthcare, preferably as a Health Care Assistant.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A desire to develop clinical skills and knowledge in stroke care.
- Commitment to professional development.
