The People Care is now looking for a committed and skilled Senior Carer to become a part of our caring team and help us deliver top-notch care services across the UK. As a Senior Carer, you will be essential in managing and encouraging a group of carers, guaranteeing that our clients receive excellent care and assistance.
Responsibilities:
Provision of Care: Assist clients with everyday tasks like meal preparation, medication administration, personal hygiene, and mobility assistance by giving them hands-on care and support. Show that you are knowledgeable about managing medical issues and complex care demands.
Team Leadership: Oversee and coach a group of carers, offering direction, encouragement, and instruction to guarantee that they provide care in accordance with industry standards and best practises. To guarantee the best possible client care, assign tasks and timetables in an efficient manner.
Planning and Evaluating Care: Complete assessments of clients’ care requirements should be conducted, and customised care plans should be created in consultation with the client, their family, and medical specialists. Care plans should be reviewed and updated frequently to reflect evolving needs.
Customer Advocacy: Serve as a client advocate by advancing their choices, rights, and sense of worth. Make certain that the needs, preferences, and cultural convictions of each client are acknowledged and taken into account when providing care.
Record-keeping and Reporting: Ensure that all documentation of clients’ care plans, progress, incidents, and condition changes is correct and up to date. As needed, prepare reports, and maintain good lines of communication with the care management staff.
Risk Control: Determine and control possible hazards in the care setting, putting the necessary safeguards in place to protect the clients’ and employees’ safety and wellbeing. Observe company policies and health and safety guidelines.
Collaboration: Work together with medical specialists, such as nurses, therapists, and physicians, to offer complete support and treatment. In order to guarantee efficient communication and a person-centered approach to care, collaborate with the families of clients and other relevant parties.
Continuous Improvement: Keep yourself informed about the most recent changes to rules and care practises by attending workshops and training sessions as needed. In order to encourage team members to keep improving, mentor more junior employees and share your knowledge.
Criteria and Requirements:
- health and social care NVQ Level 3 or a comparable certificate.
- demonstrable experience working in a care position, ideally as a senior or supervisor.
- exceptional familiarity with pertinent legislation and person-centered care practises.
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership abilities, with the capacity to uplift and encourage a group of people.
- sympathetic and caring personality, with a sincere wish to make other people’s life better.
- outstanding writing and vocal communication abilities.
- the capacity to prioritise work, operate autonomously, and make wise choices.
- competence in keeping correct records and paperwork.
- the ability to work any hours, including weekends, holidays, and evenings, when needed.
