JAP ROOFING CONTRACTORS LIMITED is a rising firm that specialises in all elements of roofing. It has been building and repairing roofs in the United Kingdom for over five years. Our objective is to immediately resolve any roofing issues. In order to carry out the company’s business more efficiently, we needed an experienced candidate for the indicated role.

The candidate is required to:

  • General building experience.
  • Physical strength and endurance
  • Ability to follow technical drawings and building blueprints.
  • Comfortable working at heights.
  • Good arithmetic skills to calculate areas, numbers, and prices.
  • Experience of 1-2 years in a similar job.
  • The ability to use power hand tools.

 

An interesting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Roofer to work with a local, renowned company.
As a slater in housing, you will be part of our construction, restorations, and maintenance team, working on a variety of properties, both residential and commercial. Responsible for completing assigned responsive repair or maintenance jobs using your trade expertise. Work flexible hours to allow repairs to be completed at times that are convenient for the customer.
This will be an ongoing contract, working Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 4.30 p.m.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Create roofs with a variety of materials and tools (tiles, felt batten, underlay, and top layer).
  • Lays and secures underfelt, then covers with hot bitumen or another adhesive material.
  • Measures the roof or outside wall and calculates the necessary amount of underfelt, tiles, slates, or thatching material.
  • Lays, aligns, and secures successive layers of roofing material.
  • Seals the margins of the roof with mortar and ensures that the joints are watertight.
  • Inspecting the workspace to ensure that all necessary materials are there.
