About the Role:
Are you skilled in social media management within a complex organization, adept at creating content and identifying trends across various platforms? Do you possess excellent communication skills with a flair for flexibility and creativity? If so, the Social Media Officer position could be your next career move.
As a Social Media Officer in our Communications team, you’ll be responsible for sourcing, producing, and scheduling compelling social media content across key University platforms. You’ll manage our core feeds, ensuring high-quality, channel-specific content aligns with strategic objectives, while boosting engagement through creative branding.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and schedule proactive and reactive content in accordance with campaign plans and emerging trends.
- Identify social media story opportunities from across the University, working with the News & Press and PR Campaign teams to tailor content for social platforms.
- Oversee daily management of the University’s core social media feeds.
- Serve as a contact point for social media queries, providing advice, training, and support to colleagues to enhance their social media presence.
- Assist the Social Media Manager with producing regular performance analytics and reports, adapting tactics based on insights.
About You:
The successful candidate will have:
- A first degree or equivalent experience in a similar role.
- Proven expertise in using social media strategically within a complex organization across various platforms.
- Excellent content production skills, including basic photography, video shooting, and editing.
- A keen understanding of branding and the ability to create content that adheres to brand guidelines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building effective relationships.
