Job Description

Registered Nurse, Haemodialysis Unit

Are you a qualified nurse registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) who wants to build expertise in renal care?

Whether you have worked in the NHS or private healthcare, if you are enthusiastic, dedicated, and eager to grow, we want to hear from you. No prior dialysis experience is needed; we will provide training to help you succeed in this rewarding field.

What the Position Involves

As a Dialysis Nurse, you will provide high-quality, patient-focused care in a specialist setting. This includes assessing patient needs, planning and implementing personalized care plans, and evaluating outcomes for individuals living with chronic kidney disease or recovering from acute kidney injury.

You will handle advanced technical tasks such as operating haemodialysis equipment while offering compassionate, holistic support to help patients manage their treatment effectively.

Our Worcester center has 20 haemodialysis stations and serves around 100 regular patients.

This is a full-time position (37.5 hours per week), with shifts scheduled from 07:00 to 23:30, Monday to Saturday; no Sundays or night shifts are required.

What we Offer

At Fresenius Medical Care, we prioritize your professional growth with structured, ongoing development. New employees start with our accredited 8-week Fundamental Dialysis Programme, recognized by the European Dialysis and Transplant Nurses Association/European Renal Care Association.

We provide many continuing professional development (CPD) opportunities beyond those needed for NMC revalidation, allowing you to advance your career.

The starting salary is competitive, up to £34,750, with career progression based on a Knowledge and Skills Framework (KSF) linked to our training pathways.

Additional benefits include:

  • No Sunday or night work
  • Increased pay for unsocial hours
  • Company pension and life assurance
  • 33 days of annual leave (including bank holidays), increasing with length of service
  • Christmas Day and New Year’s Day off
  • Overtime at time-and-a-half after full-time hours
  • Paid breaks
  • Free parking, uniform, refreshments, flu vaccinations, and annual Christmas meal
  • Company-funded Health Shield cash plan
  • Long-service rewards
  • Refer-a-Friend bonus (£1,000 for each successful referral)
  • Cycle to Work scheme (where eligible)
  • Access to the bhsf RISE wellbeing platform (24/7 GP and counseling support)
  • Blue Light Card discounts
  • Sponsorship for relevant training and career growth
