Job Summary

Location: University of Plymouth
Contract: Full-time, 37 hours per week (remote working available up to 3 days per week)
Duration: Fixed-term up to 12 months (maternity cover)
Salary: Competitive

The Opportunity

The University of Plymouth is seeking an experienced Policy Engagement Officer to join the Research Strategy and Governance Team within the Research and Innovation Directorate. This role is pivotal in supporting the University’s commitment to impactful social engagement and world-class research.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders to advance research policy engagement strategies.
  • Organize and deliver workshops, coaching sessions, and events featuring external speakers.
  • Develop in-house toolkits, online materials, and policy engagement provisions.
  • Conduct proactive horizon scanning and identify external opportunities.
  • Plan and execute content campaigns, including copywriting, social media management, and blog post commissioning/editing.
  • Represent the University at external policy and research meetings.
  • Support compliance with funder requirements and contribute to the next Research Excellence Framework (REF) submission.
