About the Role
An exciting opportunity is available to join the dedicated team on Ward 12 at North Tyneside Hospital. We are seeking a Nursing Assistant to support our innovative and forward-thinking team in delivering exceptional care to elderly patients.
Ward 12 emphasizes a multidisciplinary approach to ensure safe and timely discharges or transfers to appropriate care settings. As part of our dynamic nursing team, you will play a vital role in delivering both direct and indirect patient care, maintaining clinical standards, and fostering a clean, safe ward environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist qualified nursing staff in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
- Provide basic nursing care, including personal hygiene support, assistance with eating and drinking, mobility needs, and washing under supervision.
- Monitor and record patients’ observations and vital signs, including fluid balance.
- Report observed changes in patients’ behaviors, eating habits, or physical condition to the nursing team.
- Promote health and well-being within the ward setting.
- Respond to the changing needs of patients and adapt to evolving ward routines.
- Maintain high clinical standards and contribute to a clean and safe environment.
Shift Details
This position requires flexibility, as shifts will rotate between day and night, covering a 24-hour period, seven days a week, including weekends and bank holidays.
About You

- Experienced in similar care settings (preferred but not essential).
