About the Role
Malmö Municipality is looking for assistant nurses and care workers to support elderly residents and people in need of daily care. We currently have the highest demand within Home Services, especially for day and evening shifts, but there are also opportunities in care and social housing facilities.
This recruitment covers both permanent contracts and temporary contracts longer than 6 months.
What You’ll Do
As a care worker, you will support individuals in their daily lives and help them remain as independent as possible. Duties may include:
- Assisting with personal care such as dressing, bathing, and toileting.
- Performing simple medical tasks under the direction of licensed staff.
- Cooking, cleaning, shopping, and laundry.
- Keeping digital records and documenting care activities.
- Staying in touch with relatives and coordinating with healthcare professionals.
- Encouraging and motivating users to manage tasks on their own.
Depending on placement, you may work in:
- Home Care Services – visiting residents at home by bike or car, providing personal care, meals, and support with daily routines.
- Shifts: Day (07:00–15:30) or Evening (15:00–23:00)
- Care & Social Housing – working in residential homes with personal care, food preparation, and daily activities.
- Shifts: Day (06:45–16:00) or Evening (12:00–22:00)
What We’re Looking For
To be considered, you should have:
- Assistant nurse certification from the National Board of Health and Welfare, or proof of permanent employment as an assistant nurse as of 1 July 2023.
- Experience in care or social services. Experience with dementia care or person-centered care is an advantage.
- Digital skills for documentation (knowledge of LifeCare, Procapita, Flexite, Senior Alert, or BPSD is a plus).
- Ability to cycle and in some cases a B driver’s license (essential for home care roles).
- Good communication and teamwork skills, with respect for different backgrounds and cultures.
- Flexibility and problem-solving ability, as work situations can change quickly.
- Service-oriented approach, being calm, attentive, and focused on providing quality care.
- Fluent Swedish (spoken and written). Other languages are a benefit.
