About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Mental Health Advisor to join our multidisciplinary, BACP-accredited Counselling and Mental Health Service. As part of a supportive team of Counsellors and Mental Health Advisors, you will provide specialized mental health support to our diverse student community, offering individual and group-based interventions for a range of mental health challenges.

This is a part-time position (0.6 FTE).

Your Responsibilities

  • Delivering specialist mental health support tailored to students’ needs, addressing a wide spectrum of mental health and wellbeing issues.
  • Managing a varied and dynamic caseload in a fast-paced, professional environment.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Essential:
    • A postgraduate professional qualification and registration in mental health fields such as mental health nursing, clinical psychology, social work, counselling, or psychotherapy.
    • Substantial post-qualification experience in a relevant setting.
  • Desirable:
    • Experience in a Higher Education setting is advantageous. However, we also welcome candidates from public or private sector roles who can transfer their expertise to support our students.
  • Excellent relational and communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships internally and externally.
