About the Role

We are looking for a proactive and self-motivated Accountant to join our Central Services Finance team. You will play a key role in providing financial support for strategic programmes and projects, ensuring seamless submission of integrated plans and forecasts, and managing all aspects of financial oversight.
In this role, you will report to the Senior Finance Business Partner – Strategic Projects while collaborating with finance and non-finance professionals across the university.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide financial monitoring and business partnering support for strategic programmes and projects.
- Prepare and monitor financial plans, ensuring accuracy and alignment with university objectives.
- Deliver comprehensive financial management information tailored to non-finance stakeholders.
- Develop innovative systems and reporting procedures to enhance financial operations and efficiency.
- Collaborate with colleagues to find creative solutions and improve ways of working.
Qualifications and Experience
You should be CCAB-qualified/part-qualified (CA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA) or have substantial experience in a financial environment, including:
- Preparation and monitoring of financial plans.
- Producing financial management information for non-finance professionals.
- Experience with developing and improving financial systems is desirable.
Additional Information
While this vacancy is within the Central Services Finance team, there may be opportunities to be deployed to other areas of the Finance Service based on business needs, following consultation.
