The University of Reading, one of the top research-intensive universities in the UK, is looking for a talented social media specialist to join its brand-new Digital Campaigns and Engagement team.

The Digital Campaigns and Engagement Officer, working as part of a team to manage the institution’s broad channel mix to engage a daily audience of more than 300,000 users, will have experience managing social media channels in a professional environment.

You will play a significant role in the conception and execution of digital media campaigns if you have the necessary skills for creating interesting content that appeals to a variety of different audiences.

Using the expertise from both your team and the larger Marketing Communications and Engagement Department, you will collaborate with colleagues throughout the University to understand requirements and contribute to the development of a suitable solution.

In order to improve future delivery, you will also assist in managing these initiatives and reporting on their efficacy.

You’ll have:

● The capacity to balance competing demands and set priorities

● Knowledge of a variety of social media platforms.

● Excellent written and verbal communication abilities; the capacity to produce clear, compelling writing for a non-technical audience

● The capacity to recognize marketing problems and start finding solutions

● Capability to create innovative content delivery strategies for campaigns

● Expertise in managing marketing campaigns that use social media to increase engagement

● Demonstrated management abilities, particularly the ability to counsel important stakeholders on marketing, social media, and new business opportunities.
