  • Location: The Harley Street Clinic
  • Contract Type: Two-year FTE or LTFT with variable shifts.You can also join our bank for more shifts.

About the role

Resident Doctors at HCA UK are expected to work independently within their skill set to review and treat a diverse range of inpatients with short and long-term, complex diseases, as well as develop strategies under the supervision of the Consultant in Charge or a prominent Professor.

 

Clinical Duty and Responsibilities:

 

  • Play a vital role and collaborate with expert consultants, nursing professionals, and members of the multidisciplinary team to offer outstanding patient care 24 hours a day, seven days a week, while maintaining a high standard of work and upholding HCA Healthcare UK’s professional image.

 

  • At each shift change, conduct a thorough handover from the outgoing Resident doctor to the incoming Resident doctor, and maintain a high quality of accurate documentation on electronic patient records as well as paper notes.

 

  • Day-to-day medical care for inpatients, including admissions and discharges, as well as considering referrals from ward resident doctors.

 

  • Daily patient ward visits, reacting to medical needs and crises, and caring for terminally ill patients.

 

  • Provide any necessary medical care to staff and visitors until the individual is admitted by a consultant or moved to an NHS institution.

 

Essential Criteria

 

  • GMC registration and maintain good standing with GMC
  • Completion of Foundation training followed by at least two years of Oncology.
  • Oncology patient experience in inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • ALS trained

 

Desirable criteria.

  • FRCA, FICM, MRCEM/MRCP
  • NHS training programme for general medicine/oncology
