The role

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you with United Utilities (UU) as a Delivery Manager. You will lead our Capital Delivery project teams in North West England, UK, and assist in delivering components of UU’s Capital Programme.
As a Delivery Manager, you will be in charge of developing and coaching project teams, assuring quality, punctuality, and alignment with our organization’s vision, sustainability goals, and eco-friendly reputation. You will apply your leadership abilities to manage dynamic events and influence strategies in a variety of commercial scenarios and critical areas of our capital plan. You will also work with other professionals to address industry-specific difficulties, contributing to our success and assisting UU in meeting its objectives.
When you join us, you will have complete access to the organisation, our main contracts, and our largest industry partners. Stakeholder interaction is critical in this function. As a result, you will need to establish good working connections, successfully manage important internal and external stakeholders, and provide professional advise to our contractors and the larger company, including Ofwat, the Environment Agency, and numerous non-governmental organisations (NGOs).

Key Accountabilities
- You will build, lead, and manage high-performing multidisciplinary teams that work together to generate excellent results and set project, change programme, or direction to accomplish agreed-upon outcomes while trying to deliver outcomes that meet or exceed expectations.
- You will complete projects and support project documentation and requirements within the performance/cost/time constraints. This involves seeking the most cost-effective and risk-minimizing options to ensure client satisfaction and project success.
- You will work with senior leaders and teams within the business to ensure that they understand and agree with the program’s objectives and expectations. At the same time, you will aim to offer them with the necessary assistance and guidance to help them achieve their own objectives and deliverables within the programme framework.
- You will meet your budget goals for all current and future accounting periods. Lead and verify that the financial (and resource) profiles comply with the project schedule and the work breakdown structure (WBS).
- You will be in charge of developing the performance measurement baseline for our project/portfolio. This is an important activity that will allow us to track and control the progress and performance of our work. To construct a complete and realistic plan, you must combine the timetable with the scope, cost, and quality baselines.
Skills and experience.
To be successful with your application, you must demonstrate that you match the following criteria:
- Experience leading and managing a project management team that delivers challenging portfolio projects.
- Any of the following: APM PMQ/MSP/PRINCE2, MAPM ChPP or RPP, suitable post-graduate qualification, i.e. MSc (Project Management), PLP or similar abilities, knowledge, and experience.
